Predictive Text Poem #2
after Madeline Lessing
I love like a big bang and then they take a good look at their own eyes. Fondly god for me and the man. Never mind the game, but you. Sin and then the death of me is the best part about it. Always good for a little more time. Men are so funny and then they say it was a good thing. I am a nasty person so I am always the way you feel. Biggest mistake is that you have a lot to be. Disappointed in this game and it’s frustrating currency. Baby, you have been sick for me and you know that I’m not of you. I hold like a tired woman with the same thing over the next day or two. There’s no such thing as a good person in the morning. It’s okay to do it again but it has been so hard to find a placeholder, the rush of the day after. Hate that you can do a lot of trouble with your own moon. if you want a little more than time, you could come and get me. Trust, I’ll Marry a man who knows how much it will take to get a better man.
Predictive Text Poem #2 is the product of a brilliant concept which Madeline came up with, which is creating poetry out of an iPhone’s predictive text tool. I wanted to revisit the concept after having done it before, and in a workshop this year, I found myself compelled to the form again. It’s exciting not only to see what words/ideas can come about without consciously thinking them so, but to also have a general idea of what words frequent my archive of vocabulary in everyday text conversations.
