Both Sides Now

Brave: to have left, to briefly return. Somewhere over clouds, since rainbows lost their luster, I’m with phantoms of a single wing. Tallying, tearing up. Gravity in midpoint, this much unfinished: journals of juvenilia, a new name, unyielding ambition, undressed wounds of sacrifice. If nothing changes? If everything? I lied on language as abolition: months of writing erased little. But who can say, at heady heights, with bird's eye view obscured, what follows intermission? I’m ready to break a leg.
