Keeps on Running
by Ben Robinson

In his poem “Welcome to the Shitshow,” Robinson’s speaker stares up at the night sky like “someone in a science fiction movie/ who is about to die.”
Robinson’s poems are about the bus schedule, robocalls, a cylinder of platinum-iridium that weighs exactly one kilogram. Scams and walking the dog in the early morning. They record a kind of irreverent domesticity, and are confident and sure, even when the speaker is blown by the wind “so hard that I get hit by a car.”
