New Publication Schedule

February 13th, 2010

After much deliberation, and after too many missed deadlines during our second year of publication, we have decided to change the publication schedule for Glass.

Beginning with 2010, our third year of publication, Glass will be published twice a year. A summer issue will be released on June 30 of each year and a winter issue will be released on December 31 of each year. Each issue is to contain thirty-five poems. We will continue our commitment to publish  poems that meet our standards of excellence as well as to publish a diverse range of styles, forms and schools from new, emerging and established poets.

Glass: A Journal of Poetry Volume Two Issue Three is Now Available

December 31st, 2009

Glass 2.3 Finished Cover smallWe are pleased to announce the release of Glass: A Journal of Poetry Volume Two Issue Three, our sixth issue. It contains fifteen poems by thirteen poets: Laurie Barton, Jenn Blair, Anne Champion, Roberta Feins, Stewart Florsheim, Lois Marie Harrod, Jee Leong Koh, Derek Pollard, Nanette Rayman Rivera, Kimberly Ruth, Carolee Sherwood, Shivani Sivagurunathan, and Kerry Trautman.

You can find the issue here: http://www.glass-poetry.com/volume-two/issue-three.html.

As we finish our second year of publication, we want to thank all of our readers and all of the poets who submit to our little e-zine. Without all of you, Glass would not be possible.

We are also looking forward to the future. Year three will bring some big changes to Glass.  We are going to have a new publication schedule, one which will allow us to make our deadlines (rather than constantly changing publication dates as happened, unfortunately, during year two). We are also planning a re-design of the website. It won’t be a major change and you may not even notice the difference, but we plan to streamline the various pages in order to make the site smoother and easier to navigate.

Over the course of this new year, we will also be looking into nominations for various prizes, including the Pushcart Prize, the Best of the Web and Best of the Net prizes for our poets. Keep an eye on our website (http://www.glass-poetry.com/) for updates on all of these new developments.

We Will Meet Our Deadline

July 31st, 2009

The final selections for Glass 2.2 are finished.  Thank you to all of the poets who submitted.  The poems we had to chose from were excellent which caused us to finalize our decisions at the very last minute as we went back and forth with a lot of the submissions.  For those of you who haven’t heard from us yet, don’t worry.  Your submission is under consideration for Glass 2.3 (due out in December 2009).

So, we have two days to select the order and finish up the web-work.  But that is plenty of time!  Looks like we’re going to make it.
