The Last Supper: Andy Thomas’ The Republican Club (Audio Enhanced)
Which one of you is Jewish? I mean Judas? says Donald.
Nixon sniggers. Lincoln rolls his eyes and sighs.
What’s in that Diet Coke? says Reagan. I better have one.
After all, the bombing begins in five minutes.
War makes great statesmen. If you lived in a time of peace,
Abe, no one would know your name, says Teddy.
W. chokes on a peanut. Reagan thumps W. on his back.
Where’s Kanye? You should hear what he says
about your slave amendment, Abe, says Donald.
Is this being taped? Nixon wonders aloud. I’m sure
someone’s taping us. He glares at a hanging fern.
This must be Mar-y-Lago. My whiskey tastes like golf ball
washing fluid, says Ike. No, it’s Kennebunkport, says Papa
Bush. There’s nothing to do here but drink. Donald turns
his glass of Diet Coke round and round. Isn’t that Grant
over there staring at us? says Ford. Was he a Republican?
says W. to his gut. He sure drank like a Democrat,
his gut tells him. If I’m Christ, says Donald, and you know
I am, you all work for me. A long silence. This must be
Mar-y-Lago, says Lincoln. There’s no exit.
